Course Overview:

This course is designed to help PTE candidates improve their English language skills and prepare for the PTE exam.

The course focuses on all components of the tests including major skills (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) and enabling skills (grammar, oral fluency, pronunciation, spelling, vocabulary, and written discourse).

This course:

  • Familiarises you with the nature and format of the exam;
  • provides a 3-day intensive preparation for the exam every week;
  • Practices exam skills and tips for each of the test components;
  • Teaches how to answer all the different question types;
  • Provides realistic mock tests with feedback and workshops from teachers

PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is an international computer-based English proficiency test. It accurately measures English language skills and can be used as an English language proficiency certificate to apply for educational institutions, professional and government organizations.

The test uses 20 task-based questions to represent the kinds of functions and situations students will usually find themselves in during academic study. (please visit www.pearsonpte.com for more details).

Assessment:

Ongoing testing and evaluation followed by feedback.

Requirements:

A consistent IELTS band of 5 (Academic) is recommended as a minimum entry requirement for this course. If you are unsure of your English level, please contact us for consultation.  Melbourne Language Centre also offers a free placement test at our City campus every Monday. Bookings are essential, contact us for more information.

School Dates:

At MLC, classes are run continuously throughout the year – the school is open every day except Saturday, Sunday and public holidays and does not close for term or school holidays.
