I
have been working as a medical doctor for the last 11 years.
After deciding to improve my skills in cardiac surgery in
Australia a year ago, I seriously started preparing for the OET
and sat the OET in Japan. I managed to pass three categories
(Reading, Writing and Speaking), however, I was never able to
pass listening. Even worse, the test system was changed and one
has to pass all four categories in a single sitting, which I
found almost impossible to achieve by studying without any
professional support. I came across the information about the
OET Preparation Course at Melbourne Language Centre and was in
Melbourne two months later! The course offers a practical
syllabus to prepare for OET and I chose to undertake the course
for 6 weeks. Through the big volume of material, my listening
skill improved significantly. During my studies at MLC, I met
a few doctors from other countries aiming to pass the OET and we
used to stay back after class and practice doing role-plays
after school.
I
went back home after 6 weeks at MLC and tried the March Test in
Japan. I finally passed it with A for Writing and Bs for other
three skills! I will be working as a Cardiac Surgery Registrar
at John Hunter Hospital in NSW in a few months time. It would
have taken me more time without the 6 weeks at MLC.

The
course was very useful and effective. I liked everything and I
got a lot of enjoyment and much fun. Nicole, our teacher, is
very nice and she helped me a lot to improve my abilities to
pass the test. So - I wish to continue with my success.
Thanks a lot for everything.

This
course is a good preparation for the OET exam. Even if you don't
want to do the exam but want to learn medical English, you can
enjoy it and get a good knowledge. Also, they give you all the
support that you need.

I've been in Melbourne Language Centre for 4 weeks.
I've enjoyed it. The staff in Melbourne Language Centre are
very friendly and professional. The OET course was very
comprehensive, therefore, my medical English has improved
significantly. Besides, I've made really nice friends during
my stay at this school!

Studying
English for me is one of the most important things. After I
finished my university in Poland I decided to go abroad and
improve my language skills. I chose Australia because I heard
that everything is great here including the climate, the people,
atmosphere and of course the English Schools. I am very glad
my choice was MLC. I need an IELTS Certificate to continue my
Degree from Poland. I’m sure that MLC can give me the
best in English schooling and I would recommend this school
to everyone. Maciek

My
husband and I decided to live in Melbourne. We would like
to stay here for a long period of time. I am an engineer,
however when we first arrived my English wasn’t good
enough for a job in a company. For this reason I decided to
study at MLC, now my English has improved and I’ve made
many overseas friends. I am also ready to get a good job because
I have achieved great results at MLC!

My
name is Piercarlo Pettirossi, I’m 31, I’m from Perugia,
Italy. I came to study English because I need an IELTS certificate
to enter a Master in Media Studies in England or the Netherlands.
It was a great opportunity to visit Australia and know how people
from all around the world. I’m enjoying my classes at
Melbourne Language Centre. The teachers are very good and well
prepared and I have met a lot of friendly classmates. MLC, like
Melbourne, is definitely the place to be.

I
studied nutrition for 4 years at University and now I want to
study nursing. I’ve been interested in English for a long
time. I didn’t have enough chances to use English and
to meet English speakers in Japan. At MLC I am doing English
for Health Professionals. I can’t wait to make full use
of Medical English for working and studying in the future.

I
am working at St. Vincent’s Hospital as a registered
nurse. I studied English including Nursing English and had
nursing work experience at Warringal Private Hospital organized
by MLC in 2001. I now work as a nurse at this Hospital. Work
experience helped me develop a good connection with the nurses
at the hospital. Thankyou MLC!
